People from the Rift

Feels like the strong people are directly preceded by some violent rift of some kind. A massive change to their lives, that brought them closer to the essential things in life, and survival is supported by a powerful conviction that things will have to be better, somehow. Might be correlation based on bad evidence, but a stagnated and uneventful life seems to help bloom the worst of behaviours. Stuff rooted in fear. Because if you never lost something important, then you'll always be devoid of the know-how to come back through the other side.

Getting it done

One of the fundamental things I must  do to get problems solved is to take ownership of the situation. That's where the expression "when you want something done, do it yourself" derives from. It ties with the Portuguese's organisational problems perfectly. Many people refuse to take responsibility because they fear if the situation goes pear shaped, they'll be blamed for it. And so, things move at a glacial pace. I have to be fearless and take initiative in order to drive change.

Invictus

I must have read this before, or heard it, or have felt it. To ensure absolute commitment towards victory, one must place find himself in a situation where losing can't be afforded. Sun Tzu advised against engaging armies without possibility of retreat, they'll fight to the last man. But commitment wanes in the presence of choice or alternative, in the chance to compromise. This concept is not new at all. But it something that must always be kept in mind.

Voracious Drive

Uncluttering your heart is a skill. To keep it free o' fear and anguish and sorrow. To ensure no matter how scarred by the past, every one of its beats goes towards the things that make you ever stronger. You have to run as the dawn breaks, and with that push the dark away and keep going forward with vim and singular purpose.

Querido Pai Natal,

Obrigado e Feliz Natal.

What a Great Idea

What about working? What about doing what you're being paid to do, instead of fucking around? Hmmm? How about that for a great idea?

Truque para Criar

Consome.
