Goodbye maximumantonius-en goodbye!

So, so, so, what have we concluded with today's exercise?

Today I decided to revamp my blog/website/deposit for mental/existential angst. Blogger is behind wordpress, tumblr and, I believe, Windows Notepad. Some features are broken, other stuff just seems left behind. And Google+ integration. What the shit?

I don't know, it looks like a failed project that's sort of kept alive because the installed user base is big-ish.

My blog was actually two. A Portuguese site, and English site. Both with the same name, pointing to one another. That allowed me to enjoy separate correct cultural environments: the English version had dates and section titles in English, likewise for Portuguese.

But my view count was split, and it forced me to keep two separate design templates. Not ideal.

I decided to bring everything together. But what interests me is what I didn't decide. I knew from before Blogger is the bastard child of blog sites, with Wordpress and Tumblr being the hawt shit. I still kept with Blogger, even though I could migrate to one of the other two.

After importing the content developed in maximumantonius-en, I started working on the layout of the blog, changing shit around until I figured it to be in a state of harmony and inner peace.

After a tumultuous result:

I turned to what it is now. The Gadgets (all the jank that isn't posts like lists, top posts, label cloud, etc) feel underwhelming. There are shitloads of hacks online to make that stuff better, but instead of going for custom code, and debugging it, I just tried to make the most of what I have right now.

That seems a pretty common theme with me.

I need to move to bigger things. Put the work in. That's the lesson here. Creativity doesn't drive me from moment zero. I always make the most of what I have right now. Only then does necessity kick creativity into action.
